... just wondering, when weighing casts is it before sizing... before lubing... or ??... after the whole process ?...

after cast and eye sorting.
otherwise you end up with a bunch of lubed and checked rejects.

for my h/v 22 stuff i eyeball sort, weight sort, then check/lube, and do a final weight eyeball batch sorting.
but i'm searching for the last tenth, and the velocity.

After casting, after careful visual inspection, before lubing.

If you lube before you weigh, you will get sticky lube all over you scale pan.
This doesn't harm anything but it is a hassle to clean up and you MUST clean it up before weighing powder.

GRid, you didn't mention what your casting or shooting or what your trying to accomplish by spending the time to weigh them all. Depening, it may well be a waste of time.

See this current thread on this topic.

After.
The weight will go up a fraction.

To me it makes little difference, but I usually weigh and sort after check/size/lube.
Those that fall to the far left and right of the bell shaped curve get shot as plinkers. Those exact to close to the top and top of the curve get loaded by exact weight.
