At what ratio should I mix JPW to my normal lube mix?

My current combo is:

50% Bees Wax
50% Olive Oil

Would adding 20% JPW be a good starting point or should I go higher.

Thanks Warf

Why mix it?

It works fine by itself.

I use mine straight, no mixing, no fuss. As Cousin Eddie said in the movie "Vacation", "I dont know why they call this Hamburger Helper, it works fine by itself."

I tried making my own lube using JPW, LLA and Bees Wax. I wish I’d never used the JPW in it, the lube shrinks as the mineral spirits dry out.

I’ve since learned that JPW is about 80% mineral spirits and the rest is paraffin with a small amount of Carnuba Wax. You could just add paraffin (candle wax) and a touch of Carnuba (cheese wax) to your lube and get the same thing, without the annoyance of mineral spirits.

When it comes to JPW, use it as a stand alone bullet lube, if it works for you. Paraffin is not really a very good bullet lube, better used as a hardener for soft lubes when needed.

But, I’m just a newbee here, so what do I know.

Whitespider, that is how you learn, and you are doing it in style. Keep up the good work. ... felix

I've found a source of Carnuba Wax which was the only reason for trying the JPW.

I might try the JPW in fry daddy since one of the posters had good results that way.
