Mike, you are a genius. I've read of folks using a .590 RB in 20 ga, why wouldn't at 58 work? Might need a paper patch to make up the gap between projectile and wad petal. If anyone has that mold I would suggest sending some to Mike so he can try it out.

My next thought was using a hollow base skirted mini ball as the projectile. I think you'd have to deal with the wad and the hollow base to keep it from deforming. Just thinking outbound as I've never dealt with skirted mini ball in a front loader let alone in a shotgun hull. I look forward to seeing what others have to say. Frank

Hubel458 is working on .58 12 gauge sabot. Isn't VDOmemories using .58 caliber for 20 gauge?

Only if you have a rifled barrel. Foster type "punkin" slugs are hollow based, so they fly like a badmitten shuttle cock.

Not sure of the diameter of a 20 ga. barrel, or the diameter of a real boolit. It might fit inside a plastic wad to work like a sabot.

The 58 cal. lee REAL is 440 grains, a bit too heavy for a 20 gauge shotgun. Most 20 ga. slugs are 7/8 ounce, 440 is just over an ounce.

I have attempted to use a 58 cal for a 20ga slug, the problem I encountered was the wad. give it a go and see what you get.
