How does the Lyman 452630 compare to the H&G #68 in feeding? The nose appears to be more square vs the 68.

I normally cast my H&G 68s with two eight cavity H&G moulds. However, I had a second stroke last year affecting my left side and manipulating the eight cavity moulds is a real chore. I'm thinking of purchasing two Lyman four cavity moulds to replace the H&G moulds. The four cavity Lymans are no problem for me and I have about 100 of them left over from when I had my casting business. I prefer cast iron to aluminum or brass.

I would appreciate any feed back from anyone using the 452630 in IDPA, IPSC/USPSA.

i don't shoot any of those id or whatevers.
but i do shoot the lyman boolit you mention.
in fact i sold my H&G mold when i got the lyman, now you are correct on the nose being shorter and stouter.
other than that it is super close to the H&G, except the lube groove is quite rounded.
i have never had a failure to feed in either of my 1911's with either boolit and decided to go with the lyman 4 cav as that is about half the molds i own allready.

I use the Seceo/Redding mold #068. Its a 4 cav 200gr bb swc.
Very nice mold to cast with. Shoots good for IDPA/IPSC.
YMMV.....
