The drawing by 452.1 is over on the other thread, the board would not let me post it, siad it was too big.

maybe 452.1 can post the pic over here.

lets see how many takers we can get, It would be great to get to 100 molds :-)

If we get 25 comittments we will open orders.......keep them open 3 weeks, then allow one week for checks to arrive, and submit to Lee

...If you're talking about the drawing at post #8, and sized as in post #36, on the other thread, then I'm in.
...If it's changed in any way, other than possibly a larger meplat, then I'm out.
...Not trying to be hard to get along with, just wanting to make sure we are talking about the same design.

I think if there are no objections when we have (23) confirmed I will open orders and PM each person with the addy to send the check, 3 weeks after that date the order will go in to Lee.

I think this bullet would be a great cast bullet plinker, I know I have that use planned myself, along with 30 and 32 caliber pistols.

Yes, it should work fine sized from .311" to .314". o.311" is a very good size for normal 30 caliber rifles.

This is shaping up nicely, I am thinking we will be opening orders this week the way it looks and sending the order to Lee on Sept 1-2005. That will give everybody that would want one a chance to get in on it. PLEASE confirm with me via PM or on this thread before sending $56.00 to

William Danielson
10426 St. Rt. 576
Montpelier, OH 43543

That way I can keep a running tally here of who's on the list, until I recieve their check. IE, let me know somehow "I'm IN" and I will then start another checks recieved thread once the checks start showing up ay my house.

I THINK a package of ramen noodles will fit inside the Lee mold box, for any in dire need I will include one. :-)

How do you think this would work in a GI M1 carbine ? I have been wanting to try cast in a carbine, but was wondering if I need a gas check bullet to keep the piston etc. from clogging up.

I have shot cast in my Garand with no problems, but always a GC design.

The carbine will take it fine. Beagle answered this on another thread, he suggested useing a round nose top punch to break the meplat edges for good feeding. For the M1 carbine, gas checks or none will make little difference.

I would like to get in on the 6 hole .314RF Lee. Should I send a check now.

This is a great site! I was directed here from Frontier Sixshooters to look at another mold and I can see that this site could cost a guy a little money :) !

Welcome to CB DiamondD.
You do realize these buys are "optional" right?

LOL Seems there are a lot more going on now then there ever were before, but the numbers of the posters showing up are steady also.
There are a lot of sites the more or less shut down for the summer season but we grew ,,and grew,,and grew. Please pass along my thanks to the one that let you on to our home.

Bill, count me in for this buy. Will mail check on 16 August. I know check will be cashed at a later date, but at my end, one check per payday for the shooting hobby gives me all the grief I can stand :-) Thanks, Bob

40-41 How high can we go ?

We're getting in the range where it is worth mentioning that if we get to 100 molds that would be two for $82.00 shipped, from what I saw on shipping the last buy maybe even $80.00 shipped for two if we got them from Lee for $35.00 each.

Bill,
I am on the list for (1) mold now and have sent my check.

IF you can hit the 100 mold price break, put me down for a second mold.

I would prefer however that you don't hold sending the order in much
after Sept 1 trying to get to the 100 mold mark.

Thanks

Howdy All,
If this mould configuration is in accordance with the drawing posted at
11:34 a.m., 07-20-2005 by 45 2.1 "Boolit Master", then count me in for at
least one. I would definetly consider two if it will help in achieving the
quantity required to lower unit costs.

Bill,
I notice my initials and zip are in the checks received but name is not on the name list. Should I worry or chalk it up to you being swamped? BTW thanks so much for organizing the order. I hope the experience isn't too bad of a one. I do appreciate it.
thanks,

The name list was a way to know when we got to 25, people are making contact via other means now and it is getting confusing, I will add you to the names list, but the money bag my Wife has the checks in with your address is the master list and from that she gives me the data for the checks recieved list.

In general when you guys send in checks please let us know what your screen name is so we know who you are, and please be clear about which mold you want, There is another group buy lining up and we don't want to get things confused.

I've always liked my Lee molds--let's see what a custom mold will look like :)

One way to think about it, is that if we can hit the 100 mark, the
second mold only costs $26 --- thats about 4 bucks a cavity.

Bill-

I might be persuaded to order one or two of these.

How much longer are you gonna be accepting checks on this one?

Willbird
08-17-2005, 06:40 AM
Dutch, I will accept them until the last day of August, I would prefer to have them by the 22nd so I can deposit them and have 1 week for them to clear before sending Lee the $$.

Money odrer is in the mail, a check might be simpler, but would also require an explanation to the local bookkeeper, and a week or so on the couch. so.... D.mack

Yes it is still possible, I have PM'd you the info, it is also further back on this thread,

If you have a 32 caliber pistol I think you are going to profoundly regret not getting in on this buy.

I'm not sure how many $$ we are going to have avail to buy extras on this
buy. The extras will be $66.00 shipped.

when we deposit the checks I will wait 10-14 days and then send the order in, during that time if we do not have your check you will need to send me a MO.

Hey Willbird, if I'm not too late I'll take one of these moulds. With 5 .32's myself and my best shooting pard having 3 more, I think we can put it to real good use. It looks like it has enough lube groove capacity for a good black powder bullet too. Get a check in the mail tomorrow. Now, what to do with the Lyman 311008 I just bought.

Willbird
