Janet and I are richly blessed to live on a place where we can do a little recreational shooting. The house faces west, so in the afternoon after the sun sets behind the trees, we go out on the front porch with the .22 single shot and do a little plinkin' with Aguila Colibris. They make no noise at all and have the energy of a pellet.

I set up a steel target hung on a shepherd's hook plant hanger about 30 feet away.....

.....a plastic bottle hung from a string on a plant pot bracket about 50 feet out and an old trash can lid stuck in the branches of a bush about a hundred feet out.

Janet has more fun shootin' reactive targets than you can get a permit for. Thank ya', Lord, for our place in the country!

Thank you! If you like, I'd be happy to take some more photos of the place and post them.

The photos already posted are pretty. More would be appreciated. Living in a city suburb helps me to appreciate what others have in the country. I grew up in the country and miss it.

i love them little colibri shorty bullets; they stabilize in my old shot-out gallery gun (a 1906 winnie) a lot better than the longer ones; even regular shorts or cb caps. makes it possible for me to shoot in my own gallery--the length of my garage. the practice sure helps the offhand techniques, and it's much more fun than playing solitaire on this stupid computor!
mind yer topknot!

We found a great place in the country that has allowed us to enjoy many benefits, but I have never been really happy with my shooting setup. Other than that, all I would want for is prime fishing and hunting out my back door! Congrats on having a nice place to shoot!

Amen to that, grew up in the country, where I could shoot my .22 any time of any day. The bunnies that killed to eat my parents Apple trees had no chance. Now I'm in the city and have to drive to shoot...

Once upon a time i had a place in WV 135 acreas with a 80 ft pole barn i had built.I had a 50 ft indoor pistol range and a 8X16 ft reloading rm with a sliding window and a bench setup looking out at a 300 yard range. I sure did a lot of shooting now i travel 84 miles round trip to the outdoor range , i sure miss WV. I can relate to someone lucky to have shooting out thier back door tks for your time KEN

Back in the early 1900s Colibris, known I believe as Floberts at that time, were used regularly for entertainment. A drape would be hung in front of the fireplace to circumvent ricochet. And targets would be hung in front of it.

Jim, I'm green with envy. What little I can see of your place looks like Heaven to me.

Jim, do you mow all that? Or just inside the fence!

It is quiet, Brad. The most noise we have to put up with is cattle bellerin' at dus' dark and squirrels chatterin'.

Wayne, I don't mow none of it. My huntin' buddy, Jeff, cuts it for us twice a month.

I grew up in a place like that, but the urban sprawl surrounded me. Now I have to hide to pass gas.
Oh,,,,,,, for the good old days.
