Do you have boolits cast from every mould you own?
I'm not talking a life time supply, but a hundred or so
just in case you need to try a new load and it's not a
good day to cast? I try to have at least 250 of the
little used boolits up to 5,000 of my most used boolits.
I don't mean loaded ammo.

Not even close. I have moulds I haven't cast from in many, many years.

Part of the addiction process. I keep an inventory of all my boolits so I don't waste time making more of what I already have.

Very few. I cast a hundred or two at a time, lube and let age then load and shoot. Repeat as necessary. I have some molds I don't cast with anymore such as a 230gr Lee TC/TL that I got for my XD45 and since I sold it I am back to my 200gr swc which won't function in an XD.

I usually do. The bad thing is when I use some of the older boolits and find a great load for a mold that I have already sold.

Yes, at least a couple hundred.

Couple of thousand of my favorites.

( Please don't tell the reporters on me )

So far I have about 500 of some and 1000 of the 200gr swc's for comp shooting. I like to have them cast ahead so they can be aged already when I load them.

I regularly load for .32 S&W Long/.32 H&R Mag; .38 Special/.357 Magnum; .44 Special/.44 Magnum; .45 ACP/.45 Colt. I have several thousand bullets cast for each of those. I will NOT be in the place where I need/want to shoot a particular caliber and don't have bullets. Not gonna happen.

I have large coffee cans filled with the bullets I use the most - lots of 358429, 358477, 358-125RF, 358311, 429421, etc. Probably more than 500 and less than a 1000 of each. I have more than 80 molds, but right now I've only got about 14 different bullet styles cast up.

Some molds I bought just to fill out a set and some are not as good as the ones I use a lot but I keep them just in case they might work better in a new gun.

I am like the perfesser, I have lots for the ones I use most, none for the others.

I suppose it depends upon how many moulds you hae. For a guy with 30 to 50 moulds it means lots of lead tied up in bullets that may never be shot.

I have molds that have never been used yet. So no i don't have finished product from all of them.

i was gonna say no because i had swaged up the last run i made.
then remembered i have about a thousand of them lubed, sized and checked.
i think i have a few hundred cast up for every mold i have, even stranger is i have boolits here from a mold i have never owned.

I keep a pretty good stash of most of the boolits I use (most often). I'll bet I have at least 10 molds that are still new in the box. One of these days............ enjoy Mike

My least used mould has made about 400 bullets the most used about 67,000 . i allways keep a good supply of bullets usually about 1,000 to 3,000 bullets from each of my 25 moulds. i store most of my bullets in bulk in 2 1/2 gallon buckets and refill them to the top when casting season comes in Febuary, last Feb i made a little over 20,000 cast bullets which is a extreem, i usually only make about 10,000

I dont keep boolits from every mold, I do have a few thousand of my most used cast up and ready to go.

I keep between 100 and 250 of what I shoot the most of on hand all the time, this keeps them on a continues cycle, I have cast with every mold that I have but I do not keep any on hand for which I do not have a gun to shoot them with, I cast for some friends so I do not use those molds that often.

I prolly have 150 or so molds that I don't use at all for myself, I have tested all of the bullets from them but use the mold to make bullets for others, I prolly have 250 or so molds, none are Lee molds, but from all the makers otherwise.

The only ones that i do not have any cast for is a 32 pistol mold.
I do not have anything that shoots it.

I have around a thousand each for my main calibers, several hundred for other guns. Still working on load developement for several.

I usually cast 300-400 at a time so that I don't have to cast too often. It's a bit of a project to get everything out and warmed up.

I do have some molds that I haven't cast from yet since I don't have everything else I need to load that caliber.

Right now, I just load for 45acp and 38spl.

Rifle loads are next on the list, but I haven't tried any yet.

I think of the whole process as a supply chain. I like to have some cast, some lubed and some loaded. I only have about 8 molds so it is not too much to keep this up. Usually, I'll cast one of my favorites for most of a session, then grab a mold for something I am low on and cast a few of that mold to round out the inventory.

If there is a SHTF senario, I do not want to be smelting just so that I can start casting. Be prepared!

I have somewhere between 1k and 10k of the boolits I shoot regularly. I have maybe 20 molds currently that I have absolutely no boolits on hand for. A dozen or so that have less than 500 and a handful with less than 100.

I found my wife likes cast boolits, so when I'm loading in the shop she casts pistol boolits. Since we spend a couple evening a week in the shop, she casts fairly small runs of many different boolits. They add up and it keeps her from getting bored while I load us LR Benchrest ammo or handgun fodder.

Once I cast a supply of boolits up they seem to disappear down the barrel of my guns. I need .358 158 SWC and .356 124 TC and .431 245 SWC and...........Now.

Do you have boolits cast from every mould you own?

Nope. I haven't even cast with every mold I own.

I've been running through more rounds then I've been producing lately. I prefer to not keep bullets stored by their lonesome. They like to be stored in nice brass cases w/ powder and primers under them. I still have molds I haven't cast with.
