Anyone with experience with this bullet? With/without gas check? I have a SC mould which throws a bullet measuring .311 on the base band and right at .300 on the nose. The gent I bought it from used the bullet in one of several Krags.

That is the first cast boolit I ever used that made me realize that cast boolits could be accurate. I bought a big box from a flea-marketeer guy I used to work with and in the box was a 4-cavity 311290 and same in 311291.

I shot 3 into 5/8" @ 100 yds. out of my 30-06 1903 4-groove bubba-sporter and began to accumulate molds after that. I used the 25.5 gr. RX-7 load right out of Lyman cast bullet book. Never have been able to duplicate anything that good but that's just me. Still shoots great though. So long as the big long nose fits the bore tightly, it shoud shoot great. You don't hear too much about those anymore as they are out of print. I think the 311299 and the 311284 kind of took their place.
