I bought a Lee .454-285 Minnie ball mold to try in the .45-70 Contender. The as cast is .455. I set up my homemade bump die and got it adjusted to bump the minnie up to .459. I charged two cases with 16 grains of WC820 and test fired them in the Contender with the .45-70 barrel. The pressure is relatively low as I found unburned granuals of powder in the barrel.

Testing continues, film at eleven.

Yep - I'd love to see pix as well. Been considering something similar for awhile, as some of my enfields run a touch large in the grooves.

Definatly need more info. This would help on my Browning 92 in .44 mag.! The usual .44cal boolits are tumbling before they exit this .433/.434 bore and I'm too cheap to buy 1 mold specifically for 1 rifle. Actually....I did buy 1...a Lee 200 rnf thinking it would cast oversize as per Lee. Just my luck this one drops perfect .429/.4295 dia boolits. Audie.....the Oldfart...
