In the past I have always gone to Star in Indianapolis and bought swaged .38 wadcutters because they were so cheap. Now that Star ammunition is out of business, when my supply is gone, I will have to start casting them. Here's the question: My experience with Lee 38 cal molds is when cast with straight wheelweights, the boolits come out undersize. With other boolits, I can add tin and or antimony to make them come out bigger. But with mass produced plinking boolits, I really don't want to be adding precious metal to to pot. Those of you who have Lee .38 wadcutter molds, what size do they drop when cast with wheelweights?

One of my cavities drops .360 and the other drops .361. This is with atraight wheel weights. Hope this helps.

Thanks. That's good news. My first mold was a Lee 150 or 158 gr 38 cal. hollowpoint mold. I had a Lyman 450 lubesizer and the boolits just about fell through the .358" sizer die. .360 or .361 would be great.
