So much for the .225 Winchester article.

Nice book marker, but I imagine closing the book can be cumbersome.

You need to re-think your priorities. And the cat is helping you, holding your place in the book. (bookmark)

it's a lot harder to read/type with a 75 lb labrador on your lap.

Jeff,

I'll trade you the 15lb cat for the 85lb Lap Puppy...

Our niece recently discovered that Molly, my 14-month old Yellow Lab considers the Love Seat hers...

Jeff, we have two mega-shedding shorthaired dogs, a white one and a black one. No matter which pair of dress slacks I choose, the sticky lint and hair remover comes into play. That's why I mostly wear blue jeans.

There are days I would agree though not many. Griffin is a wonderful companion. Albeit not a very motivated one.

My cat is the reloading room supervisor. He has to check out every phase. He loves to roll an occasional piece of brass off the bench, and sleep on the reloading manual.

Helping.

Sometimes it doesn't feel like he is helping, but you probably needed a break
to pet the cat.

15 pounds of 'good for nothing'? I've got 20! Soon as I find a good pic, I'll post one of 'Hobbes', my Classic Brown American Tabby. Absolutely useless.

Is that who made the mess in my loading area? I was trying to figure out what happened, I know it wasn't me!

I try to keep the courts put of my loading area. All they want to do is go places they don't belong and play with stuff they shouldn't play with. They are like little kids but with far more curiosity and even less ability to care.

You can own a dog, but never a cat. They are good bed warmers if they don't crowd you out.

A pet raccoon ? How in the world do you keep him out of every place he is not supposed to be into. They have little hands with thumbs and everything . They can open doors and get into everything. I bet he had a field day in your reloading room...what all did he get into ?

Any man can have a dog, but it takes a special sort to be "chosen" by a good cat. You guys are great!

Here's Spooky, my guard panther/lap sloth. He's a "kneader/headbutter", some of you will know what that means.

You guys haven't even got a god start yet, I have 16 cats! When we bought our farm here in Tn I decided we needed a big tom cat because of the rat population but the one we rescued from the animal shelter turned out to a big sissy so a neighbor gave us another one, big, ugly and death to rats! Over the years we accumulated several more but they earn their keep and I could not help but learn a new respect for these things, gotten quite fond of them actually and now that it's just me and my wife at home we even have two big Himalayans and an Abyssinian that live indoors with us, that Abby is so dang smart it's scary!

I'm glad cats are the same all over the planet. My cats Sprocket and Bentley think reading time is a gross imposition and insult to them, and demand attention.

This is my 3 year old Sinatra that showed up on my doorstep as a starving kitten. The only time she really associates with me is when I am reloading.

This is Bones. He is 13 and Sinatra loves laying on him. Here he is helping me go over some load data.

Bones looks to be in good shape for 13, I can tell he hasn't spent much time outside because his ears aren't sun-damaged. Worst thing you can to do a Russian White is let them soak up rays all day.

I agree. That's a fine 13 year old. Griffin is pushing about the same age and only just recently has starting looking a bit mature. Much like the late Queen Mother, he is living proof that never lifting a finger in your life is good for longevity.

I miss the 23 lbs of Maine Coon that left us last spring. He'd sleep in the chair by the door all day, only getting up when I got home from work. We still find fur when we clean.

I miss that booger. :(

Maine Coons are really neat. My plan was to find one, but some others found us first, and so we took them in. All full-up here with felines (four) for the forseable future.

I have always been in awe of cats.

Up in Alaska I found a big cat in my back yard. It was huge by house cat standards. It would not let me touch it, or get closer than about 3 feet away. I fed it for about 3 months during the winter, probably 2-3 times a week. Sometimes it was gone for 2 weeks. Was never skiny or starved looking. Didn't have any of the features of a lynx bobcat or any wild cat I know. Just the size and look of sleek power. About 20" at the shoulder head was bigger than a softball by about 1/2". It had the most beautiful coat greenish with black barring almost like a tiger.

I was broke back then but would of traded my rifle for that cat. Winter started to break and it was gone.

I still wonder What it was and where it went. Probably the most wonderful animal I have ever seen.

Wish I had a camera then.

This is our oldest cat at 3 years old. His official name is Garfield, but he answers to "funk" (short for funky kitty) In this shot the girls had just finished with him. he takes it in stride though.

Yeah, he barely sheds and is low dander. My wife's sinuses are being largely agreeable with the new mouser. Watching him hunt and 'kill' stuffed mice gives me hope that we will never have a rodent issue wherever we live with this one. :)

I'll be building a scratching post/cat seat so he won't wreck the leather couches too badly when he runs across them.

Yep, It's true......dogs have owners, cats have staff. Ours rises about 7:00 am and wants breakfast. If the meowing doesnt wake you, he walks up and down you until you get up. He likes to sit in my lap while I'm reading and rub on the book. He owns the house, he just lets us live there. :)

He's 20 years old and kinda' cranky, but so am I. I guess that why we get along!
