I think the days of being able to purchase any gun for only 5 cents are long gone and all we can do is think back to the time when one could purchase one for a nickel.

As U.S. Vice President Thomas R. Marshall once said, "What this country needs is a good 5 cent gun."

Now, now, now, everyone has the right to claim a value on their gun, in that case, a nickel it is.

To quote Daffy Duck, "It's a quarter staff. Actually, it's a buck and a quarter staff."

I had a gun that shot nickels as a kid, does waxing them make them fly better??

These guys are funny aren't thay?

I clean my $.05 guns with hoppes then spray them down with break parts cleaner to remove the hoppes as it will leach under the nickel plate causing it to peel then wipe down and patch barrel/cylinder with Break Free.

No, it keeps the barrel from fouling so badly.

I have never used anything but a good grade of gun oil. I am very careful not to get any hoppes or the like on the outside of the gun.

Never mind I see what he was asking now, I missed the part about the wax.

I use chrome wheel wax.

Cleaning a nickel gun is a waste of time.

Just buy a new one-- you spend more time cleaning it than twenty new weapons.

I'd buy nickel guns by the twenty dollar bill, and give them away as party favors.

Sounds like I should get some lube grooves from Waksupi and some Bullshop lube maybe??

You better hurry, I heard Waksupi had a 2 for one deal on loob grooves, but it's a limeted time offer.

The question then becomes, if you have a nickel gun, do you really bother spending a dollar on lube?

I had a nickel 19 that I would like to have back. I have a Regulation Police Nickel 32. Nickel guns can go bang.

I had a nickel S&W M10 2" RB that was a commemorative from my agency. Another Lt buddy of mine had one and wanted another as he had two sons. That is one gun I didn't regret selling. The look on his boys face when he realized dad had gotten one for him was priceless. Frank

judging from what I've read about the official, genuine, 5-star quality, Waksupi loob grooves, I don't know that I would use them in just a nickel gun. Maybe if you installed a few around the outer circumference of the barrel, thus squeezing down the barrel and shrinking the bore size, you might find a lesser quality loob groove may work. That way the good ones aren't lost.

Good point!
Kinda like putting a $1000 scope on a $50 Carcano.

But on the other hand I do like my barrels to last even if it is a nickel gun.
Ya just don't see many around anymore.
I guess on evilbay they would call them vintage or somethin.
