My son (15 years old) has wanted one of these for awhile now. I was looking on the Samco Global website and decided on this (https://www.samcoglobal.com/1-M24-47.html). If anybody has any recommendations or advice it would be greatly appreciated.

I looked at those, too, till I read their grading criteria, which is listed in their FAQs. The bold print indicates their current selection. I found one locally with what appears to be a new, un-fired barrel for $200. Keep an eye on Gunbroker, instead.

SAMCO'S GRADING CRITERIA - FIREARMS
UNISSUED: Original factory condition.

USED: 100% original metal finish. May have Storage/Inventory marks.

EXCELLENT: 90% of original metal finish, bores. Like New. No pitting. May have Storage/Inventory marks.
Very little marring of the wood.

SPECIAL SELECT: 80% of original metal finish. Some dings & dents on wood, Clean Bore: pitting.

VERY GOOD: 65% of original metal finish. Dings & dents on wood, clean bore, in working condition.

GOOD: 50% of original metal finish. Dings& dents on wood & metal. May have surface rust & pitting but in safe
working condition.

FAIR: Well worn, very little bluing. Has surface rust & pitting, dark bore. Complete, in safe working condition.

Samco is notorious for taking their time with shipping.

Thanks for all the help. I think I'm going to go ahead and get one in "excellent" condition and hope for the best.
