I have all of the 63/37 solder I need for now, so I'm passing this on for anyone who is in need of some tin.

Yes, we have a menber who sells straight tin for $5/lb. which is a good price.
But, if you need 40+ pounds of eutectic solder, there are six slabs on eBay right now, that are 'Buy It Now' (not auction) sales.

I did the math on one of the heavier slabs and it came to $4.73 per pound for the tin alone...not even counting the 16+ pounds of lead content.

I bought 30 pounds of 63-37 on Fleabay a few days ago. cost about $5 a pound delivered for the tin, not counting the free lead.

I bid on a bunch of silver bearing solders, but they all went for more than I thought they were worth. Second bidder on most.

I placed an offer on a 42# slab of 63/37 and damn if they didn't accept it. Now I've got to buy it. Worked out to $4.23/lb delivered, just for the tin content.

I plead guilty to buying #3. I'm thinking of buying #4. Somebody hurry and remove the temptation.

Hey, NuJudge, if you don't mind my asking, what did you pay? I offered $100 and they accepted.

Probably more than I could have gotten it for.

I know what you mean. I was going to do a "buy it now", and then I saw the best offer tab, so I figured what the hell, all they can do is decline my offer. I was really kinda surprised they accepted. I guess there's not that much of a market on 45# slabs of solder.
