Dillon 650XL price check

Saw one in a hock shop today.

I don't know anything about them but here's what I saw...

Dillon 650
Case feeder
Powder measure
It only had a powder drop die in it
Bunch of primer tubes

It was wrapped up in plastic so i couldn't really check it all out and I wasn't interested enough to ask to see it better.

Just curious what it might be worth. Because it's a pawn shop I'm sure it's overpriced at $850.

Pawn shop prices never cease to amaze me. However this place carries new reloading supplies too and has quite a powder selection, which I am thankful to find out about, but at about $27/lb average. :sad:

Yes, I am very happy with my single stage presses at the moment. I saw the dillon and just had to look at it for the sake of looking.

You can go on to the site & see for yourself. It's either NOT a 650 or your buddy has a FFL/C&L & got a discount. Either way, they are NOT $465 to the avg Joe.

The 650 is NOT sold with the case feeder, it's always an extra.

The case feeder is a $200 option. A base 650 is in the mid $550 range. Options can add up. Price it out on Dillon site. Also, a pawn shop will take much less if it sits too long.

I just heard a guy got a 550 and a 650 for $500 by posted wanted to buy on Craigslist. A lady just lost her husband and sold his stuff. Kind of creepy but it worked

The price the OP was asking about included a casefeeder which makes it more expensive than what was purchased from Grafs by another member.

When I buy anything at a pawn shop I always offer less than the asking price. It’s kind of like buying a car you never pay sticker price. I think if you offered $650 or $700 he would possibly sell it.

Asking Price & Accepting Price.... they can be a long way apart... Bet the shop didn't pay much... neither should you... I'd sooner pay a little more for new rather than buy a possiblily high mileage item....

That said... it's hard to beat "Big Blue"... had mine over 15 years, only problem a
worn primer indexing thingy at the top of the frame... and a bent primer indexer from me trying to work out what was wrong....

The pawn broker will pay anywhere from 30 to 50% of what he can resell the item for. If you buy it, ask what his return policy is.
I bought a DW K03S (1911) and found it to be malfunctioning so I returned it. He said he would send it to a gunsmith to have it repaired. I went back a week later and offered to buy it again, AS IS. I paid half of his initial asking price for it and fixed it myself.

Got mine brand new, with dies and extra primer tubes for $650ish (no case feeder).
