I was going through some of dad's old guns and found my Great Grandfathers old 8mm Lebel. I hadn't seen that rifle since I was a small child. I remember Dad saying that until his grandfather got it it was never fired and only dropped once.

I was wondering if anyone any extra brass laying around that they would be willing to part with for a nominal fee? I would love to shoot the old girl. I cleaned her up yesterday and found the bore to be in perfect condition, and considering it is a Remmington MLE 1907/15 I figure it ought to be a great cast boolit shooter. I love those old rimmed shells.

Best wishes,

Joe

Graff has the brass most of the time, haven't looked lately as i got rid of the rifle that I formed the brass for and it used the Lebel brass. They are sponsors at the top of the page.
Post some pictures please.

yep grafs: it's not too unreasonably priced either.
you can get the lee die set from them at the same time.
i have the remington cut up version still, i had an origional at one time.
you'll have to scrounge up the clip for the magazine too.
and be aware that thier idea of 8mm and mine is considerably different.

I have alway wanted to have an 8mm Lebel rifle.

There is something about the shape of that cartridge that always intrigued me.

Congratulations, have some fun with it and put it on the range.

Check this place out Joe: http://www.aco4u.com/ammo/amomil.html

Wikipedia says: " While newly manufactured 8mm Lebel ammunition has recently become available in the U.S., reloadable cartridge cases can also be produced by reforming .348" Winchester brass. " Here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8mm_Lebel

Midway USA has .348 brass: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/1390280956/winchester-reloading-brass-348-winchester

Thanks fellas for all the info. I did find some new brass at Grafs, and since I am going to have to take a trip soon to the VA hospital in Columbia, Grafs is right on the way. I can pick up brass, mould, and reloading dies all in one shot and not have to pay shipping. I am good on all of my black powder supplies and cartridge gun supplies. I get the Label taken care of and I will be in great shape.

Best wishes,

Joe

Great find.
Sorry to hear about your dad.
I would hate to be in your shoes going through all the guns and deciding which ones to get rid of, as I hate to get rid of any gun, I would probably have to build a gun building that I couldn't afford.
