View Full Version : Rain in drought ridden Texas

We received .1 in. then 1.7 the next day and then .1 again a few days later. I was happy to get that, but friends and family report 4 to 7 inches in the Abilene, San Angelo, Midland area. Believe me they needed it. The lakes were going dry and drinking water was getting scarce. More will be needed, but it's encouraging.

They must have started digging peanuts. lol That always causes it to rain, so they can rot in the field.

Not many peanuts in the area of the Panhandle I used to hunt, hogs seem to really enjoy them.

We received 2.5 inches of really welcome rain here on Saturday. Last weekend we had 3.7 inches in 3 days, so the pastures are looking green again. It has been a long dry spell. Need more to fill the tanks though.

They grew a lot of them around seminole just a very few years back, I know they still do just across the state line. lol

Arkansas is a bit dry to.But it is doing a little better.
I have been feeding 17 deer in my yard and now there not coming in as much to eat.glad i work as a millwright in feed mills.I get the feed in totes of 2000 lb and have fed 2 this year.And yes there fat

Working in Clovis NM 5 mi from W Texas line. Friday it rained most the night, light but probably 1/2 inch.

It got behind 12 plus inches this middle summer..Thats dry for us in Southern Illinois...Caught back up a bunch but still in the hole..Not good when every thing that is under story in the woods died..

We were supposed to get some of that, from the Pacific storm, but it went south of us, and I don't think we got even a trace. Glad my countrymen in Texas got some, though, and that it went to a good cause everywhere.
