Same one (or very similar) to the one that NOE sells. They work great.

I think is probably is the same unit. I bought mine from Rotometals, works great. The 20 buck price is good, too. enjoy Mike

Havent tried it in a casting pot, but mine only last one season in my turkey ftyer @ 350 degrees, so I didnt think it would hold up @ 650+ Mine must be a different brand. I'll have to try this one if my industrial model ever gives up the ghost.

I'm new here, learning and on a budget since I "got retarded". I've been using a CenTech (embarrassed shudder...Harbor Freight....) Infrared Laser Thermometer. The range is 0º to about 1kº. Sometime you can get them on sale.

I picked up a grill top thermometer that goes up to 800f on clearance for $3 and let it float in the pot
Just got it only used it once but seemed to work pretty good

The Tru-Temp and Tel-Tru are made by the same Co IIRC.
You can call them and they will make you one with any length stem you need. All of the products they have are SS. They make Thermometers for a lot of chemical plants all over the world.
I had them make me custom lengths for my smelting and frying set ups. Great company with outstanding service and prices.
