On the bulletin board at the market: 1951 Packard Patrician, Straight Eight cylinder engine, 66,000 original miles, new white sidewall tires---only $17,800 !!!!
(Do you know what that car probably sold for new?)

There's a Packard Clipper, around 1954 I'd say, for $800.00 up here. I think about it, but I've got too many projects as it is.

Thanks, guys, for keeping my interests in mind! A "new" Packard would look nice, but parts around here in excellent condition would be extremely hard to find. Probably not in California, though. If you find a Caddy in brand new condition, usually from an estate sale, I'm seriously interested! Required years would be 91 thru 93, 4.9 engine only. NorthStars are 4.5 engines for the most part, and are actually worthless in that they cannot be repaired. They are basically throw away engines and won't last more than about 80K miles. The 4.9s will run 200K miles when broken in properly. An old fart's car would have been treated right for the most part, and is worth a chance for a purchase. Unfortunately, ALL CARS ARE JUNK in my book, and are a necessary requirement. ... felix
