The only data i have goes for a 170 grain bullet and no heavier .
How do you figure out the powder charge weight if you cast or want to try a heavier weight bullet in a 30-30?????

six grains in a 170 gr boolit is of no consequence. Use starting loads and work up slowly. That Savage 340 is a nice rifle, be careful..

since you are gonna start low and look for accuracy anyway, it's really a non issue.
btw most boolits are heavier than the mold specc's on the box, but they gotta call it something.
and the 311299-170.7-176.9 grn rnfp gc
is kinda long.

Lyman lists lots of data for its 311-041 which is obstensibly a 176 grain boolit when GC'd.

As said, it does'nt matter when you start low and work up.
