hello new to this ........cast bullets for my deerstalker......50 cal.....max load 80 FF weights vary for the bullet from 370 gr to 374gr is this execptable...these are store bought...........the T C 320 gr has better tollerances......lyman type bullets shoot better than the TC Thanks all CJ

look at it this way the weight variance is just a hair over 1%

Not the weight, the gun just likes one boolit over the other.

With only 80 gr FFg my guess is one bullet fits better and obturates and takes the rifling better than the other. I too don't think the weight variation is enough to matter with a ML and 100 yards accuracy? How much is "shoots better" BTW?

That 2" is really good! Must have a pretty quick rifeling twist to stabilize 300+ grains with less than 90ffg.

something like 1-28 or 1-24 i'd think.
