What lube are y'all using on the blackout. I have a 245 cast running at 1040fps. Any help would be great

Thanks

I have been using 45/45/10 on subsonic loads with both the 311247, and the lee tl309-230 aac blackout bullets. Also, for supersonic I have been using the same lube without any leading issue. Quick'n easy with no mess.

That is what I am using now. Love how easy it is. Just always looking for something better.

Thanks Chris

at 1k fps just about anything with wax and oil will work.

I would like to get a deer this year with it. Do you think he 45-45-10 will sill shoot ok in cold weather. Say around 30

Thanks

I would think so, haven't had any issues with the other calibers I load it in. I also shoot the 245 with 45/45/10, works perfectly.

I'm thinking about deer as well but will probably up the velocity to around 1450 or so.

I live a sheltered life here in SW Idaho. Tell me what 45/45-10 is, if you would be so kind...?

rich it's in a sticky in the lube section but here is the short description.
you cook the solvents out of johnsons paste wax.
mix the results 50-50 with xlox.
then add 10% mineral spirits.

there are several variations but the cook off of the solvents is critical.
and adding the mineral spirits back is the key to the lube drying faster.
i have added b-wax,used tre-wax,mixed trewax 50-50 with the jpw [the way i like to do it to see it better] i also use xlox thinned and not the lee stuff.

my version is 50-50 jpw-tre wax 50-50 xlox mineral spirits then 20% by eyeball b-wax.
it comes out like a 22 coating and works quite well.

Have you checked out the trajectory of that load to ranges, that you may spot deer at?

Not yet. Right now just out to fifty yards and it will hold 2 to 2.5 inches Part of that might be me.
