Please put this in the trash bin if it don't fit in this forum.

What do I use to load 000 buckshot? I can't find any loading data.

There are probably more variables in shot shell reloading than in metallic cartridge reloading. Shell case, primer, type of wad, type of powder, weight of charge, etc. You can really get into pressure problems fast by substituting any of the components above from published load data. I would recommend that you get a copy of Lyman's Shotshell Reloading Handbook or Reloading for Shotgunners by M. L. Mcpherson, they both have lots of recipes for buckshot loads. I had been reloading metallic cartridges for 10 years and considered myself fairly knowledgeable when I decided to reload my own shotshells. After reading the manuals listed above I found out how little I did know. I hope I don't sound like I'm lecturing you because that's not my intent. I just want you to be safe.

What case do you want to reload? 2 3/4 or 3 inch? What powders do you have?Dale

Thanks for the response. I have Win. AAA , Fiochi, and Fed. I have Lymans Shotgun reloading book, nothing for 000 buck. I have all 12ga. 2 3/4 hulls.

Doesn't it list 00 buck? I would think the loading for 000 would be close if not the exact same.

Win.AA -26gr. Sr7625- Win 12R wad is one that gives the most room for the buckshot. ...38 gr. Blue Dot with the same wad is faster with slightly less pressure, but you will have a little less room. These are listed for 00, but I have used it for 000 with no problems in my 1100. Dale

The 000 will weigh less than 00 because of the empty spaces caused by the larger diameter. BTW if you decide to buffer the shot you need to do some research first as this can cause some pressure spikes, so proceed with caution. Dale

Joey here's a recipe I found in Reloading For Shotgunners, 4TH Edition. Federal Plastic Hull (w/paper base wad), #000 buck, Fed 209 primer, wad-4BPGS + 20gr of Bp shot buffer, 23gr of 700-X. You should be able to get 6 pellets in this load. Hope this helps.
