cancer surgery

I am having cancer surgery for a spindle cell melanoma tumor Thursday morning. It's in my left arm pit area. I have a very good surgical oncologist. That is why I haven't been posting much lately. Last melanoma surgery was 17 years ago. I'll be back on once I get healed enough. I am a pretty private person and surprised I decided to let you all know about this. Prayers would be nice but please don't feel sorry for me. It's just another of life's set backs. Mark

Mark I will pray that the Melanoma will be completely removed on Thursday and that your future checks will keep you cancer free. I have dealt with melanoma before and I know what you are dealing with. Prayer is our best medicine.

The chemo left me with a neuropathy, can't walk worth a hoot, but I give thanks every day for blessings received. Next goal is to get in with someone and have a good hog hunt before I get too old. I just went through my second bout with cancer. I do mean just went through, because my final radiation treatment was today.

Hang in there and keep a positive attitude...it helps. I know!

thanks all. surgery went good. bigger than the doctor thought. Sounds like radiation is next. I am greatfull that my pcp has a good friend who is an oncology surgeon who looked at me monday and surgery today. bless all on this site. Mark

Mark, I can't believe I missed this thread, but I did until just now. I'm glad the surgery went well; hope and pray radiation and recovery go well and it doesn't come back. I went through that six years ago and it was no fun at all.

When you get feeling up to it let me know and we'll go shooting.

Take hart. I had two surgeries for testicular cancer when I was 29. I'll be 65 this month.
