Well just wanted to let everyone know that im an addict. And i think you guys are to blame. I would be lieing if i said i could quit anytime i want. I use severeal time a week. Its all i can think about. I toss and turn thinking about boolits. Its all a talk about now. Ive even brought the people i care about into this. My own MOTHER is now using boolits! :holysheep ive only been casting for about 6 months and im already 7,000 loaded rounds in and ive casted over 9 thounds boolits all together. Thank you all for enableing me and teaching/ instructing me how to make this drug :-P if it hadnt been for you guys i couldnt afford to use as much as i do. The commercial version of this drug is way too expensive now days.

Hello my name is Peter and I have been bulletless for 15 years. I fell off the wagon with my 223 15" pistol for a while until I found a boolit it liked so now I am back on the bulletless wagon.

oddly it's 12 steps from my front room to my casting shop.
and 12 from there to the casting pots.
it's only eleven to the fridge.

I'm addicted also. My wife said I needed to go to Boolit Casters Anonymous. I said BCA was for quitters. There sure is a lot of people here that will help us with this problem. But they seem to be pulling me in deeper.

Yah not even talking about the actual reloading part.. the casting is so much fun to start with wheel weights and end up with a bullet its just so frickin cool!

I also am a boolitaholic. Boolits have taken over all my free time. Shooting them at silhouette targets is the only way I can get them out of the house. So when I fall off the wagon and go on a casting spree, the only thing to do is get rid of them in this way. Cast shoot cast shoot cast shoot.....

I have read your post several times, and given it much deep thought.
Having used all my analytical and thinking ability, I have reached a conclusion.
******Sounds normal to me******

It was a while ago that we had a thread "Do you cast to shoot or shoot to cast?" It looks like this one may be going in a similar direction.

I started out casting to shoot. I figuered if i started now while im young (21) id save a whole lot of money over the years. But now i think i love casting/reloading more than shooting. So i suppose i shoot to cast. Like jlaudio29 said starting with the raw materials and ending with quality self made boolits is just dang great.

I wish i had gotten into reloading when i was 21, i was making very good money back then and had to many other hobbys... still have to many but i have added bullet casting now... if your going to save money why not save as much as you can? then youll get those saying well.. what is your time worth.... and then ill ask them how that reality tv show was that they watched last night.....

I started this back in the 80's once I found out what 45/70 factory fodder cost. (actually began casting for muzzleloaders in the early 70's.) And it grew to include the .38....then the .45 colt. The last weekend in July I went to n.w. Pa. and bought.......750lbs. of ingots....and 20 more molds. I've got molds for guns I don't even own. And molds for guns I don't reload for....yet. In the past 5 months I've cast almost 300lbs. of alloy, some of which I smelted from 3 buckets of wheel weights. I've burned through 3 bricks of primers of assorted sizes and now order brass in lots of 100. Midway is my new bff. I come here...at least once a day...sometimes more. Hi.....my name is Audie....and I'm an addict. :)

Oddly enough....one of them is just that mold. Seems the deceased owner had a standard RN and the 200 swc for his .45 ACP. What I found out is how well that boolit works in the .45 colt Ruger. At 25yds. it makes 1 ragged hole. 50yds. opens up to about 1 inch or a smidge more. At 75yds. that stoopid little funny shaped boolit is still making clusters hovering around 1 1/2 inches. Go figger. It should never work that well....to short...too little bearing surface...too light....etc. I think I'll keep it for just a little longer but I'll keep ye in mind. Audie......
