We were shooting at my friends range yesterday. The angle of the sun was perfect to reflect off the bases of the boolits and bullets. We were watching the slugs fly into the targets or over them. Once we figured it out it was almost as fun to be on the scope as it was to be shooting.
These were even fast 243 jacketed rounds at 200yds that you could see, although they looked more like tracers as they flew.
My 41mag cast loads at 1200fps looked like lobbed rounds as they went out to the 100yd swinger.
We started lobbing 45colts at the 200yd target just to watch them arc and walk them on the target. They were a sight to see.

It was a great time.

I like watching slugs go through the air. I watch a bit when scoring high power rifle also.

Spotting from just over the shooter's shoulder while pounding prarie poodles is a hoot. It seems like a video game to me because of the air disturbance vapor trail.

Spent many years spotting and shooting on the Sillywett range. I never got tired of watching the boolits fly.

Remember the first time I saw a blt explode down range from the shooter. Just a gray puff of smoke. He shot about 5 rounds before he realized he had no holes in the paper. He was shooting hornet blts (J's) out of a 22-250 or a swift (been a long time back). A real kick in the tail is to watch mini's come out of a 58 musket go down range. Helps if there is enough wind to blow smoke away from the shooter and the observer is on the side away from the wind.

you ought to see my 9mm in full auto
you can see 3 or 4 in the air at once on this short police range
they looked to be 10 to 15 feet apart

first time i saw this as a teen shooting off a bridge into a river with a 35 remington
mid afternoon real sunny summer.....they were sure a bright gold light

I have had that happen at night while spotlighting if the angle of the light is just right, it is fun but seeing bullets ricochet like they sometimes do is scary to think about!

Shot patterns on the trap range always entertain me.
