I tried my hand at casting and here are the results all groups at 100 yards. Different powder charges.

This was my first time up at bat. I did not even know that I need to add a little tin for proper mold fillout. My best group was .576 at 100 yards. 308 target rifle sized lee 155 grains with gas check beat treated 460 degree in the oven for an hour and water quenched (learn all sorts of stuff here) 32 grains of varget bullet touching the rifling.

Thanks for all the help now if you could turn my sks into a .5 MOA cast shooter I would appreciate it.

Jason, I'm kinda curious if that .576 group is one of those in the picture?

Yes subtracting the bullet diameter.

I am pretty happy with the new hobby. Unfortunately I could not get it to work without the GAS Check I could not even hit the target at 100 yards with out the GC. I do not know what the twist on the rifle. I bought it used with the intent of rebarreling it but as it turns out it shoots very well.

Scope is easy it a Bushnell elite 3200 10 X Mildot. The rifle was built by dennis sorenson of BC on a 700 action. 22 inch Guillard Barrel. The stock is an original fibreglass and rather flimsy.

Picture? Do you know how to measure the twist? You live in BC, where? I'm south down by Tacoma Washington.
