I am a lurker from way back, but i have been sitting on a couple hundred pounds of wheel weights hoping the bullet fairies would make them into boolits for me..well hey didnt..but i finally got me a ghetto style casting set up for ingots..here is the plate and pot:

so now i got a pot a few new molds some tin solder and a few odds and ends on order..the mrs wasnt too thrilled but she did like the long term cost prediction..anyway thanks for the instruction and inspiration..after i get some ingots built up ill throw out some bullets and see what happens..later Luke

Good start, now all you need is some molds to cast up some projectiles. Let us know how they work.

A fine start there, should serve you well.

I've been reloading for 30 years but only recently started casting for the same reason: to save on costs. I'm sure I'll start saving any day now...

nunhunh.
it is an optical illusion.
i buy stuff when i ain't casting to save money.
i must have saved some money, we have fired something like 7,000 rounds so far this year.
i bet i blew it all on fishing gear.

:groner:

They all hear that when we start gathering all our stuff.
We ain't lying, we just don't know where it is going.
Course Texans are known to have spun a yarn or two.

That is the way I started, with a Coleman stove and a dipper for boolits in .357".

Near sixty years later all my boolits are free. :kidding:

Great hobby though!!!! A warm welcome to Cast Boolits.
