.429 130 grain cast bullets

Going through my box of old molds I found an Ideal mold that casts a .429 bullet that is suppose to weight 130 grains. The bullets look like a round ball with a flat base. Any idea as to a starting load? Any powder as I have many powders. I am looking for a light load to hunt rabbits.

Sounds like it might be the old IDEAL 429109 designed for the .44 S&W Russian. Does it have the mold numbers stamped on the side? Single cavity?

Yes that is the mold. It is single cavity. I thought the Russian used a 148 grain bullet. I thought this bullet might be for a 44 Bulldog. I have Russian cases but wanted to shoot the bullets in a 44 mag case. Any ideas on a load?

Many bullets used in the .44 S&W Russian also work well in .44Special. I have no experience using very light bullets in a .44 Magnum. I will refer you to another member who can help.

What do I know,
but trying to stabilize a light bullet like that may present a problem.

Might make a good plinker if you beagled the mold to .430 or .431 over a lite charge.

Thanks everyone. The loads will give me a starting point. I was thinking about 7 grains of Red Dot. It is for a light plinking/ rabbit load to be used in a 44 mag pistol and a rifle.
