Long time lurker, first time poster and need help with a KKM barrel. I recently purchased two KKM barrels for a Model 26 and Model 17 Glock pistols. I am trying to standardize on a cast bullet load using Unique for both pistols but the Model 26 has turned into a jam-o-matic. I am using the MP 359-125 mold which is throwing a 127gr HP cast from wheel weights with approximately 2% tin added and sized to .357”. Rounds are loaded at 1.06” OAL using Carnauba Red lube from White Label Lubes. I have varied the powder from 4.7gr (1050fps) to 5.5gr (1225fps) and OAL lengths from 1.045” – 1.070”. Velocities were chronographed in the Model 26. Regardless of the load the Model 17 runs fine and the Model 26 jams one to three times per magazine. All jams are identical, fired round does not extract and next round coming off the magazine is either jammed against the fired case in the chamber or caught underneath. As a control, I ran two full clips of 115grain CCI Brass blazers with zero issues. Also it will fail to extract when clean or dirty. Based on feedback from KKM I have also tried using a reduced power (14#) spring from Wolff. Any info/ideas are appreciated.

I agree with Run and I'd be looking over your extractor.

The e-mail I got from Alliant powder says 4.5grs of Unique is the max for a 125gr cast boolit. I think that is at 1.125" OAL. 3.5grs works for meat 1.060". I'm relatively new at this also, especially 9MM.

Use the barrel as a case gage. Do all the rounds drop in freely and sit flush?

When I do this for 40 and 9mm storm lake barrels they run 100% reliable for many thousands of rounds.

Your loads are rather stiff, they should not need reduced springs.

Guys thanks for the inputs. I have looked over the extractor with a 10X loupe and don't see any obvious defects but of course it could still be the spring even though we are still below 750 rounds. May have found part of a cure with my reloading dies. After resizing a few cases and taking lots of measurements, I noticed that some cases have an area that it not being fully resized. Re-adjusted the die on the press to barely clear the shell plate and it seems to have corrected the issue. Will try a few more this weekend to see if it helps. Previous loads were checked using the barrel as a gauge but these seem to fit better.
