I am preparing to load 9mm for a friend. His barrel slugs at .355 and I need to know what size sizer to buy.
Thanks in advance four help.

If it was me I'd go .357.

For the 9mm it often works well to size to the largest diameter that will chamber reliably. If your as cast boolit diameter is .357 or .358 load up a dummy round and see if it chambers then go from there.

Thanks, I know the 9 can be temperamental. I wasn't sure if 1 or 2 thousandths would be best...

I size my 9mm to .358 which has done well in every 9mm I've ever owned or loaded for. I am dying to try some Lee .356-120 TC boolits with plain based aluminum gas checks. Mine cast about .358 at 125 grains, and I size to .358. I have some lubed and ready to go but am all out of small pistol primers for the moment. I am also going to check some Lee 356-125 RN (they also cast about .358) with aluminum but sadly, primers are on short supply at the moment. Frank

My 9mm likes boolits sized to .358. My Lee 356-120TC won't make them bigger than .357, so a member here sent me some plain base alum gas checks, from Pat's dies. What a joy to shoot, right on out to 50 yards. AND, no lead. enjoy Mike

My Lee .357 push through sizer makes boolits that measure .358 and they work with no leading in my M&P. I had to shorten the OAL to 1.060" with Lee 358-125-RF.

.001 to .002 larger seems to be the sweet spot. Don't be afraid to go too big, it causes
no problems (if the round will chamber) and too small wrecks the whole thing - leading
and inaccurate.

Thank you all for the info. Leaning on your experience sure beats trial and error...

My barrels are .355, I use .356 to size my cast boolits. I don't have leading problems and they are accurate in my guns. I tried .357 size and could not tell any difference on target, boolits were harder to seat in the case. I will stay with .356

.356" if the boolit you are using has a long bearing surface. Otherwise, .357".

Don't be surprised if low power loads shoot best.
