Well, I finally got a chance today to sit down and do some casting for the 7.62x25 with the Mountain Molds brass mold I ordered while overseas. Came out beautiful, and looks as tho they are going to work great. Will be lubing with Carnuba Red, and loading on top of Unique (probably 4.8-5.0g to start out.)

Looks good. How fast are you planning on pushing a PB boolit?

Planning on staying around 1000-1100 depending on how it cycles. It'll be fired in a cz-52, so I'm thinking its going to need to stay around the 1000fps range.

Hummmm - I have a 52. Nah, too many projects already, and a case of military ammo to shoot.

Well I have probably 300rds of surplus mixed with a little S&B... But it's another project...

I use the lee 312 die sized to 309. 7 gr AA7 has worked the best. Good luck.

That's a nice looking mould! I've posted the most recent data for my 7.62x25 loads in the other thread.

Iron Sights, thats interesting. I though most people's bores were slugging at .310... What was your's at???

Machodoc, Ok, I'll head over and take a look.

Can't remember if I slugged it. the predominance of advise I read said 309. I was concerned about the rounds chambering smoothly. Hmmm...

I do exactly as Iron Sights does. My bore does slug .310 but won't chamber smoothly with the boolit sized .310. Sizing to .309 is working just fine. I size the same boolit to .311 and shoot it through a Marlin .30-30. Blue dot is working really well for me in the Tokarev.

That looks like a Mihec mould is it? Let us know how it shoots?

What are the specs on your loads with blue dot?

Really? I've loaded a few dummy rounds and I didn't notice any problems feeding and chambering. Maybe its because of my nose profile...

Machodoc - I'm using 7.0 gr. of Blue dot in cases I made from 5.56 brass the boolit is from a Lee 2 cavity mold 93-311-1r sized to .309 in a Lee sizer with home brewed lube cci500 primer.

The cases are really a pain to make but I made enough of them to last awhile.

The load functions the gun perfectly is accurate and no leading to speak of. Hope that helps.

I believe my issue really is the nose. I have to set the bullet pretty far back to get it to cycle. Maybe I need to check that mold out.

When making 223 into 7.62 what are ya'll doing to ream the inside to 309?
Be nice if someone made a tool that would go on a trimmer where the cutter goes.

340six - This might seem a little weird to you, but what I do is first run a "N" drill bit (.302 dia.) into the case and then a .30 caliber inside neck reamer chucked up in a hand held drill. I wind up with a neck thickness of .011" which works out pretty well. They are a real pain to make but they don't cost me anything. I bought the RCBS .30 cal. inside reamer with the intention of using it in my RCBS powered case trimmer, but it didn't fit, so I just chucked it up in a drill. I'm curious as to why the reamer didn't fit the trimmer.

Thanks for that info. I may have to try some Blue Dot and your load data.

I spent enough time cutting down 9 mm Luger cases to 9x18 that it just didn't seem practical to me to go through all of the steps to make 7.62x25s ... so I bought a thousand Starline cases. It was a bunch of cash to fork over at one time, but they should last me awhile.
