I finished this project today, and shipped it out. 28 gauge smooth bore pistol, for North Star West.

Ric,
I'm pretty sure you sent it to the wrong location, if it wasn't shipped to me.
In all seriousness, that would be the perfect companion for my trade gun. Now I want one. You people who keep showing me all this cool stuff that I have to have is going to be the divorce of me.

Beautiful Ric. Any one would be proud to own that. Your a true craftsman and I am jealous.

Beautiful. Just the exact style I want my project pistol to have. Wish I had your skill. I've got the barrel, lock, trigger, guard, & a chunk of wood. Now to get to work. Maybe over the winter.

Nice job of work!
I can't tell from the pic, but it looks like a brass barrel. If it is, who made it? I used to lust after the Kennedy repros with the brass barrels, but never got off my wallet to build one. I have a 1 1/4x16" piece of bronze that I've been hording with a miniature cannon project in mind, but I might have to break down and turn it into a smoothbore pistol barrel.

It is a standard NSW steel barrel, slow rust browned.

No idea, it was for a customer, so I didn't play with it.

Good morning
Not shooting it would be the real hard part of building a fine looking pistol like the one pictured. Why would a customer not want it proofed ?

I put out enough guns for the company, I would loose too much time playing with all of them.

I once foolishly bragged I would learn to master the flinchlock.
First 25 Yard target was a 48 . . .
Then it went downhill.
Without experienced help to mentor me I gave that project up and returned to cap guns.
