Are those stick on WW pure lead?

Should I seperate them and treat like pure lead? meaning I can use 'em for my BP gun or not bother?

Hi

They score around 5 BHN so are about as close to pure as you are likely to get.

If you don't seperate them from the clip on variety when you batch they will pull down the overall BHN. Depends on what you need really.

On they own they would be great for round ball and general ML conicals but I would prefer a little tin for BPCR.

I separate mine. I figure I'll use the pure stuff for 38 special bullets or maybe wind up mixing it later. I want to keep wheel weights as wheel weights.

The one's that look like lead are definately almost pure but I've been hitting some lately that almost look like they're plastic coated and they seem to be zinc.

Just my .02

Save em for the smoke pole guys or your own. I always seperate my lead stash between pure and WW lead.

I have a source for free pure lead, just curious on the stick on's.

Thanks.

In my experience they are pure. If you can bend them easily most likely they are lead and not zinc. I seperate them and use them for alloying.

I separate them and use them for strap wieghts for decoys.

...I know, It's sacrilage......

That's what got me started casting BOOLITS. When I can find a source for soft lead, I'll make ingots of the stick on's for a more "noble" purpose

Pure lead for decoy weights? AAaaarrrrggghh! I use shredded decoys for flux. Just kidding. What part of TN are you located in?
