I am having an issue with a load design that I need some feedback on. The problem is that I am getting cover with grains of powder when I shoot my latest custom load. I have recently purchased a suppressor and have developed a subsonic load for it. I have used a chronograph in my development. I have also switched my primers from CCI 500 to CCI 550 (magnum) hoping this would help but it did not make a difference. I feel now that my issue may simply be I am shooting at too slow a velocity. Here are the details:

Glock 26 with Longwolf barrel
SWR Octane 9 HD suppressor
WW lead boolits at 156g
4.0g of Alliant Power Pistol
CCI 550 primer
Average fps is 830

A faster powder would burn more completely and have less blowback.

I've posted about the same thing in the Military forum here about my M1 carbine. Yes, the consensus seems to be about low power loads, which I was developing. Either more powder or a faster powder seem to be the answer but there were a lot of different responses.

You may want to read the posts.

Yeah, PP is not the choice for low vel loads. It's meant as a full power to +P powder for 9mm. Dropping to something like W231 or WST for sub 900fps loads will be better.

That's the answer as mention. Try Bullseye or Unique at the slowest.

can't blowback if it's burnt.

I would try Titegroup.

+1 on Bullseye.

With Bullseye it should be easy to get subsonic speeds with complete combustion.

Problem solved. I purchased VihtaVuori N330 and was able to run some test round today through the chrono for load development. It is a very clean powder and no splatter of unburned powder.
