It was such a nice morning after breakfast that I had to try out the mold I just got off e-bay. It was 72 when I started casting and I stayed with it until the temp started pushing 90. I ended up with 337 bullets from a single cavity mold. The mold is a Lyman 457191 that is supposed to drop a 292 grain bullet. Most of the bullets I weighed came in at 296 to 297 grains using straight air cooled wheel weights. This should keep the 45-70 fed for a while. Dale

I have a single-cavity mould, and casting that many at one time is real dedication.

By the way, was through Rapid City, in June, travelling from Keystone to Billings. Seemed like a nice place, though Winter is probably more than I want to experience. I was impressed with the Black Hills and Proctola Reservoir was exceptionally pretty.

Actually winters aren't usually too bad here. This area is nick named the banana belt. We are protected by the mountains on the west so our climate is similar to Denvers. Pretty noisy around here right now with the rally going on in Sturgis. We'll have several hundred thousand bikers around for the next week or so. Dale
