Just picked up a used Rem XR100 in 308. My same gun in 223 with j-words, is a tack driver and I have been looking for a 308 for a boolit rifle.
Went to the range Wednesday with about 6 different loads and it more or less patterned. Was thinking the .313 boolits I had on hand were too big, so cast a few that night out of my 311247, 311299 and 311284 moulds, using WW's and water dropping them. Sized them yesterday morning to .311", loaded and went to the range about 1PM.
Boolit size made a huge difference. All loads were 21.1gr 4759 sparked by a wwlrp. All at 100 yds.

Durn flyers sure ruin a good group

The 311284 boolit. Not too shabby

Next, the 311-190 FP Lee GB with 3 crimp grooves

the NOE 311247. Best of the bunch. Gotta discount the upper flyer as a fly landed on my leg and distracted me just as the trigger broke. 5 shots

Finally, the 311299. Hoped it would do better than the 311284, but as the nose was slightly loose in the bore, perhaps that is why it didn't do any better.

wow nice shooting, I have been meaning to run them 311247's through my Savage 308 bolt gun, just have not gotten around to it yet. Have you fired any since ? , any more info... Chrono ? overall how were they ? think you will keep using them ?
