In their F-100 Sabres.

This is a short film of thirteen minutes that will take many of us hurtling down memory lane. . .

Simply fascinating and incredible at the same time.

USAF Thunderbirds in their supersonic F-100 Sabres. (http://imageevent.com/okbueno/mopic;jsessionid=e1y85u72d7.eagle_s?p=35&n=1&m=-1&c=10&l=0&w=4&s=0&z=2)

Enjoy.

Those were the days! I am glad to be on their side. Such power and precision under the control of some of the best fighter pilots in the world. Thanks for sharing the memories.

Yes that did bring back many memories for me. The first aircraft I crewed after tech school in 1968 was the F-100D in the heat of Luke AFB in Phoenix Arizona then on to the Republic of Viet Nam. During my tour in Viet Nam we transitioned From F-100D's and F-100F's to the F-4D.

I have seen the Thunderbird's fly in the F-100, F-4, T-38 and the F16. The F-105 was used for a very short time between the F-100 and F-4 but went back to the F-100 after an accident where they lost a pilot in an accident. I never saw the F-105 Thunderbird fly, but did see many during my tour in Viet Nam. I saw allot of great airshows in my 20 years in the USAF.

I watched the current Thunderbirds in F16s a week ago at McChord AFB (JBLM) during the air show.......very, very impressive to say the least. Even the ground crew doing everything by the numbers was impressive. I've watched the Blue Angels a couple times also but I have to give it to the Thunderbirds. This old Army guy was very impressed.

I remember catching their show almost every year when they would appear at Chanute AFB during their annual open house. Saw them in the F-100s a number of times. Impressive doesn't even begin to describe.
