This morning at 08:00 I checked the trap and it was empty. Looked again at 08:20
and there he was! Little guy was ticked about being trapped so I let him sit for a few minutes, then I put him in the truck for a 5 min. ride down the road. The release went easier than I expected. I looked on youtube earlier for an idea of how it's done and I found this funny video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4jnE-KOWYo&feature=related

I would have driven him to a trash can full of water...

Well, I wanted to cap him, but the animal kooks are running rampant so I chose the cheaper way out. Total cost of $50.00 is cheaper than 1,000's of dollars in legal bills.

I would have neglected to put out a press release to inform the animal kooks that I was going to drop a live trap into a trash can full of water...

A wheel borrow with water in it, also works very well.
Easier to dump the water where I want it.

Couldn`t you have taken it to a "tree huggers" home and released it there?Robert

I use to trap possums and release them into the porta johns on work sites when I worked construction. We would watch that john all morning till some poor soul needed to go. Those suckers get pretty ornery when their locked in there a while.

Possums can get, sort of upset, in a pretty nasty way.
But,,,,
You have not seen ORNERY until you have seen, or tried to deal with, a PO'd Ferret.

Sweet mother of Jaysus! God, I'd hate to open the door on a Port-o-let and find one o' them waitin' for me!

Probably wouldn't have to do in the john after that!
