Well I'm tickled pink...

I've been looking for a new barrel for the '06 I inherited from my grandfather, a sporterized '03 with an 03A3 barrel (muzzel is now .3105", the bore is dark and cast boolits group about 12" at 25 yards...)

Walking the gun show in my town this weekend, I spied one (1) barrel sitting forlorn on a table... picked it up, and it's new!!! Cosmoline had been cleaned off, but it was still sticky on the outside of the barrel... not a mark on it... Remington barrel, dated 8-44, 2-groove... bore shined like new, and the only thing in the grooves was machine marks... '06 round dropped in nicely, and a .308 bullet stood proudly out of the muzzle by a quarter inch...

Guys are asking $200 for these on gunbroker... when I asked the seller the price, he said 35 dollars through a mouthful of sandwich. Couldn't believe my ears so I asked again (expecting to hear "hundred" in the front of the original quote). But I heard correctly... he said $35, and I shelled out the cash...

In my opinion, I got the best price of the gun show!!! :D
