Bought this scale last week and thought I would give it a try. I wanted to find out what weight boolit my RCBS 158grn round nose was throwing. My alloy is 100 percent recovered lead boolits from an indoor range. All recovered boolits were from the one commercial manufacturer.

Weighed 100 and got the following results:

Heaviest: 166.05Grns
Lightest: 162.04Grns

Average weight: 164.1036Grns

Are these acceptable results from this mold?

Picture of the scale is attached. It has about 7 different scales built in.

A 4 grain spread is a lot more than I am used to seeing. I am usually in the 2 or less grain spread. The exception is for the really heavy, above 350 gr. or so, and then seldom beyond 3 grain spread. This presumes that I visually inspect each blt, toss the ones with any visable flaws with emphasis on the base being completly filled out, and that I am weighing unlubed blts.

I would weigh the same bullet 100 times and verify repeatability of the scale first. Gianni.

I limit my spreads to a total of 1% of bullet weight. Any more than that, they go back into the pot.

Some of those digital scales have to be reset (tare) about every other measurement or can be off by a substantial amount. I'd be curious to find out how much of that variation was the scale and how much the bullets.

Given the opportunity tomorrow, I will weigh another hundred from a different batch and see what I come up with. Thanks for the input so far.
