Dang corn and salt thieves. Might get shot at this fall in defense of property.

I have an entire yard full of MEALS ON WHEEL'S. They are currently doing daily visitations to my mineral licks, sweet feed, corn and wheat feeder. I can not understand why that vermin keeps eating my rabbit food. If this continues, I will be forced to defend my pet rabbits turf. Looks like it may come to a head about October 1st at 5:45 am. When I will be authorized by the state of Mississippi to hurl high speed spears at them.

I know a farmer who has the exact same problem! Only difference is he has gathered quite a few of us to help him with the bandits that the refuge next door harbors throughout the year, and first spears fly here in Nebraska on Sept 15th right around 650am. Wish there was something better to do the day after my Bday!!! [smilie=p:

Wish I could bait again In the south east corner of PA again. They tried it for a few years because the insurance co;s where breathing down the commissions neck (or it was a pay off).

Well, we can put out bait here in Michigan. The amount is supposed to only be what can be put in a 5 gal. bucket though. As far as a mineral/salt block lure, I think that is strongly frowned upon. Nice pictures of the bucks though.Robert

I went to go to town about a week ago and when I opened the garage door 3 of them in velvet were standing right in front of the door. They didn't even run. All the wifes flowers are eaten and the apples are eaten as far as they can reach on their hind legs.

Baiting deer is illegal here but you can plant cover crops to prevent erosion and if the erosion control happens to be tasty to deer thats all right.

I like that now you can prove you aren't baiting deer just trying to help the little fellers out

Deer must have terrific eyesight. I`ve yet to see a deer wearing his reading glasses? My old boss had a sign like this in his office, always got a chuckle reading it.Robert

Gentlemen,
In the county I live in (Mingo County,WV)there is no Firearms season for deer. It is all archery hunting. This county along with three others is considered a Haven for archery hunters.
The picture of the first deer (the one with the largesr spread) was taken on June 19,2012 so he has grown more since the picture was taken.
The state record deer was killed about 7 years ago and about 10 miles from my house. I feed them almost year round and just watch them.

Make sure that you have a clear range to the salt lick and you should be fine. Are crossbows allowed?

you do have a legal right to property.:bigsmyl2:

IIRC, the only way a crossbow is legal is if you are disabled and have a special permit. I don't hunt them I just watch them.

Yes, The property that these deer are on is actually the Laurel Lake Public Hunting area. My property ajoins the Public Hunting Area which is literally just 50 feet from my back door. The hunting area is several hundred acres if not thousands of acres.
