I went back out this AM to re-test a couple of loads I shot yesterday. I wanted to see if they shot today the same as yesterday. One proved really good.

The two out side ones were with Win cases. All the others were Federal. I loaded up a couple of the Win to see if mixed cases would make a difference. I was having problems with other loads with mixed brass. So I am going to separate them all.

This was loaded with a 200gr SIL from RCBS sized to 0.311" an lubed with Randyrats Tac1 lube with Hornady checks an 22gr of 5477.

Here is the set up and the private range we shoot at.

It is a Savage action. The barrel was off a Rem 700 PSS. I re-threaded and chambered it to fit the Savage action an cut it down to 24" OAL with the muzzle break on it. B&C Tac stock.

The 400 yd target looks like it might be about it as far as distance goes. It seemed to really open up. I really need to get a chrono to find out what these are doing for speed.

Am I right about it starting to become unstable? Or might there be something else going on?

I have got the 311299, 200 grain boolet to shoot tremendously with 19-21.0 grains of IMR SR4759. I seat them snugly into thee rifling, and lube the bore rider noses to further aid in alignment and leading prevention. (hornady gas checks, sized to .310") not a hard
Alloy(wheel weights + tin) air cooled.

I shoot this boolet also with IMR435 &IMR4831. Velocities have been as high as 2425fps.

No significant leading yet. High vel. Loads shoot the best around 2250-2300fps. I can keep the boolets inside 3.5" at 200 yards fairly easily. I have had groups under 2" frequently.

Who says cast boolets cant shoot?! Lol! Its sure been allot of work finding these loads though!

I am impressed! :drinks: I wish I had a rifle to play with after seeing this.
Such a beautiful place to shoot too.

At 400 yards, that is still deer meat in the freezer. Great job with both the gun and the loads. There's nothing wrong with either!
