I don't suppose you'd care to provide us with a source for these...?

Sweet,
I may have to hunt some of these up locally (can always use some more varieties of ingot moulds). Can you tell me what the "per ingot" dimensions are?
Thanks

Thank You!

I have about four alloy blends I use on a regular basis. I bought a pair of the cornbread moulds awhile back, for use in the Lead/Antimony alloy I bought.

Times like this is when I love Amazon Prime. $14.60 delivered with two day shipping!

According to Lodge, the dimension of each section is 2 7/16" x 4" x 1 1/16".

Isn't Amazon charging state sales tax now?

I know they are for Texas

I've had one of those for a year now, the ingots stack nicely

Thanks, I've been looking for a new shape, and or size, for ingots. I've been afraid of Chinese cast, and what is locally available is either too thin aluminum, assembles, or nonstick.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll have to check my casting pot to make sure an ingot that size will fit.

I have 5 of these sitting on my casting bench now. Have a friend in the kitchen supply business who gave me a deal on them. I might have to pick up some more!

BK,

consider the cast iron cornbread muffin pans. $7.99 last I looked at a restaurant supply house nearby.

On the other hand, if you weld (or, in my case, has a friend who does) angle iron ingot moulds will work well, also. My favorites are of 2" angle iron about 6" long. They make up an ingot weighing from 3.5-5 lbs. depending on how high you fill them:

Be sure and allow a bit of "draft" in the handles (slant them slightly so that they release the ingots easily).

Ahhh.... The operative clause.

Just make sure they weld well, I had an ingot mold made up by a friend and he wasn't too careful, I'd pour the ingot and the lead would work it's way into a small cavity in the weld and I had to fight the mold to release the ingot. I finally gave up on it.

I have two of the flat ingot molds mentioned at the top, and they do make nice stacking ingots, I only use them for storage as they don't sit on the pot to preheat like the corncob ingots do.

If your ever on 1-24 near Chattanooga there is a Lodge store in Jasper, TN. You can get deals on blem's and 2nd's. Great place to pick up something like this.

If you visit the Smokies, there is a Lodge outlet next to Smoky Mountain Knife Works as well. I picked up one of these for $12.95 there.

I like lodge products for ingots. I have been using the lodge wedge cast iron pans right from the get go. 9 dollars each and they work great. They also have a bread stick pans that work excellent for tin. Just weigh and measure, and cut off 1 ounce at a time with a pair of pruning shears.
