I got a bunch of cast boolits in a trade from a guy and the bases are pretty irregular. They are sized .381 for my 38-55 Marlin. Is there a tool to make the bases more uniform? I was looking at the NOE links over in vendor sales and they have something similar but it looks like it is for gas checks. Don't think that's what I need.

Thanks

You might see if anyone on the site has any of the old .380" gas checks for the .38-55. I had a partial box but I think they're gone now.

At one time, the .38-55 checks were .380" and then they dropped them to .375"./beagle

Thanks Beagle, my Marlin slugs at .380 so I have been using .381 boolits. I have a good supply of the .381's in good shape and a bunch of .380 gas checked, but am planning for the future. I'll try what you said though and see what happens.

that noe tool is to put a little taper on the base of the gas check stem so the checks will slide on the boolit easier.
