Considering that the fire season seems to have kicked off with a vengeance, I just wanted to say a heartfelt thanks to all those who are involved with the efforts to keep them contained and keep the damage to as minimum as possible (in the circumstances, that is...)

Since we've got one burning just south of us, it kind of brings it close to home, so to say.

Just want to say, thanks, guys & gals, you do a good job of keeping the rest of us safe, and that you're in our prayers.

I went through petro-chemical firefighting training in '77 when I was working for a big American company that makes the base product for polyester. That's some scary stuff, brother. My hat goes off to a man that has RBs big enough to run into a fire when everybody else is running out.

It's definitely been busy. Only reason I haven't been on the Federal Red Card pool working the Fed Fires close to me is because we're short handed in town dealing with our own wildland issues...
