View Full Version : I saw a Remington single action revolver in a gun shop

I like stopping at this shop to check out the old Winchesters and Colt's he has. Today there was a Remington 44-40 Revolver! It is nickel with a 5.5'' barrel. He recently picked it up at a big antique gun show in Denver.

I'm not a collector and don't know much about them but he said there were about 2000 of these revolvers made. The condition of this is very nice, it's drag line on the cylinder doesn't show much use. 13,500

Good revolvers, certainly as good as the Colt. Someone used to make a replica of the 1890, I believe. Frank Burnham carried one in Africa for decades, at least I remember it being an 1890, it may have been an 1875.

Uberti. Made an 1875, and the later 1890. I've currently got a Uberti '75, in .45 Colt.

all 1890 's were .44-40. the nickel plating means it could have been an indian police. as all indian police hand guns were nickeled in an effert to help with the black powder fouling and lack of cleaning.
