I did some footwork on this, I emailed Midway, Midsouth, Wideners, Natchez (potential boycott issues with Natchez I know), and F&M reloading. I asked them for quantity pricing in lots of 25, 50, and 100 sets of handles.

so far here is what we have in reply

Midway (no quantity price break, they did say dealers get a price break)
Midsouth (no reply yet)
Natchez (no reply yet)
F&M reloading (no reply yet)
Wideners ($10.78 each in lots of 25 or more, advance payment required, 3 week wait, normal price is $12.00)

I would be good for 2-4 sets of handles myself, so I'll start the list. I'll update this as we go along.

A couple years ago, I was going to do a group buy on the Lee handles directly from Lee. Their bulk dealer price was right at $10, IIRC. Didn't do it though, because with shipping, it would have been cheaper for folks to just add them to their next order from any of the major retailers.

You will be able to do a lot of check collecting and addressing of mailers, and the end result will probably be that you can save everyone about 50 cents per pair.

I thought as much Grumble, But I also thought I would do the footwork and see what kind of numbers they came up with.

Bill, since you're doing all the legwork anyway, check to see what Lee Precision can do for you direct from them. It used to be that bulk orders shipped directly from them didn't have postage added. All the retailers, I think, add postage.

Wideners seem to be wheeler dealers, free shipping on larger orders of thousands of brass for example, I thought we MIGHT be able to deal free shipping in the deal if we had enough takers.

I would be good for 4 or 5 (or maybe six or seven) sets of handles If you think it is a good enough deal to follow through on.

There is free shipping from grafs but their handles are $14.59. I would just rather buy an extra pair on my next order than have to wait for a group order just to save a few $. Some things just ain't worth a dollar or two for and waiting for a pair of handles isn't one of them. Even if we could get them for say $10, then you are looking at 2 or 3 dollars minimum to ship them on top of the wait for the order.

See if any of your shooting buddies have a Curios and Relics Federal Firearms License. "Crufflers" can send Lee an original signatured copy of their C&R FFL and then get dealer prices from Lee. Lee also pays shipping. They do have a minimum purchase.
