Picked up an old Ohaus DC mould with handles (.378 dia - 265 gr. - RNFP) off fleaBay a few days ago and I'm truly impressed with it. Mould has undoubtedly seen some use but has been well cared for and is in good condition.
Tried it for the first time tonight, using my usual 25-1 alloy, and it dropped good boolits from the very first pour. Ran off a couple hundred, keeping the boolits from each cavity separated, and did some weighing and measuring after they'd cooled. After culling for visual defects, less than 1/2 gr. variance between the two cavities (front hole= 264.8 gr. mean avg. with SD of just over .2 gr. / rear hole=264.4 gr mean avg with about the same SD). Boolits measurement: Nose dia. ahead of crimp groove = .377, body dia. .378 with .379 dia. base band...add .0005 measured across the parting lines.
Strictly by the numbers, these should be nearly perfect for 100-200 yard loads in my Uberti .38-55 Highwall with its .377 groove dia. Planning to load some into once-fired cases tomorrow night and, maybe, get to the range later in the week. If these shoot anywhere near as good as they look, there's gonna be a Lyman 375348 available on the Sway & Sell forum real soon.
