Ok, so I got some valve compound and started lapping the spout on my Lee pot. Am I over thinking this or what but I'm wondering how much lapping it takes to make a difference in leaking.

Do I have to take all the machining marks off or just do a little touch up.

Thanks,
Saguaro

I woudn't do too much. I didn't do mine and it doesn't drip. I also twist the spout to clean it before shutting down.
They are pretty reliable if you keep the melt clean. Ingot down in a seperate pot.
I use Kitty litter on top of the melt. Also keeps the crud out. The rejects melt and drop through the clay.
